Introduction to the composition of the flexible board
1. Dielectric layer
It is used to maintain the insulation between the circuit and each layer, commonly known as the FCCL substrate.
2. Silkscreen
This is a non-essential structure. The main function is to mark the name and position frame of each part on the circuit board, which is convenient for maintenance and identification after assembly.
3. Lines and drawings
The circuit is used as a tool for conduction between the components. In the design, a large copper surface will be designed as a grounding and power supply layer. Lines and drawings are made at the same time.
4. Surface treatment
The main factor that directly determines the quality of an FPC flexible circuit board is the surface treatment process. At present, the more common surface treatment processes are immersion gold, immersion silver, gold plating, tin plating, OSP, etc.
5. Coverlay
The FPC coverlay can also be called a protective film. The main function is to protect the copper foil from being exposed to the air, to avoid oxidation of the copper foil, to cover lines in the subsequent process such as surface treatment, and to act as a solder mask in SMT process.
6. Holes
The via hole can make the lines of more than two layers conduct each other.
